About Manor Cottage An 18th Century stone cottage near Richmond, North Yorkshire The cottage overlooks the village green and 14th century church with its leafy churchyard, whilst the Shoulder of Mutton, the village inn, is renowned for its excellent food, real ales and is only a short stroll across the green. Kirby Hill is an ancient village almost forgotten by time, set in unspoilt countryside at the foot of Swaledale. Located about 5 miles from the market town of Richmond with its Norman castle, Georgian theatre and River Swale. It is also an ideal base from which to visit the Yorkshire Dales, Moors and East Coast, as is less than an hours drive from the Lake District.
